Hot & Not @ the big G this year
Since it seems to be the trend: Hot Getting a lift so we don't have to wrangle the trains Being pretty happy with my costume The group I'm in being all very chilled dudes The Lions once again being very awesome The Lord Roan fight (which is the best fight I've ever ever had) Looking Lord Roan in the eyes and not running 10 million miles away Getting to use most of my spell cards each day Buying Dave a shiny lammie After an completely uneventful ritual circle guard: 'The Wolverines are here to relieve you -Oh, and the Akari are storming the front door...' Getting 5 hits per loc on the final battlefield (which is a big deal for a healer) Buying a shiny new spear (it's sexy!) Getting to see some people I haven't seen since last year (Meg & Leanne) The Caley!!!! Not The final battle being a bit disappointing and confusing Losing 3 arrows The weather being a bit crap at times The group I'm in going to split next year so we will be fielding a massive 5 people Not getting any recognition this year from Faction Command (Though I suspect this is because the Magpies didn't field too many people and we don't have a uniform) Tiny uncomfortable tent (this will change next year!) Having to buy food most weekend due to poor planning with gas canisters Overall it was an awesome event, lots going on and some of the attacks on our gates were brutal! Dave took me dancing and that was brilliant! Now that I'm in a faction I really click with, and a group who are all really great chaps, I'm enjoying the Gathering a ton more. The plan is for me to learn to drive so we could possibly make it to the 2 big events each year rather than just the Gathering, and bring a bigger tent and more luxuries like an airbed. Also it's looking like I might be taking my bow next year to give that a go, it did look lots of fun. I reckon I'll be the only healer / archer on the field :P | | Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 | | 9:54 pm |
I haven't posted for a while! Really looking forward to LT this year, last year was a blast and I actually am getting an OSP! Currently on the Slim Fast diet - it's working brilliantly and in a month I've lost 5-6 lbs, though because it's high fibre and I don't drink enough I'm always having wicked stomach pains :/ Booked our Center Parcs holiday for November which will be good. This is a very boring update, apologies :( | | Saturday, November 22nd, 2008 | | 10:23 pm |
I really love snow, except when I'm cycling in it :/ | | Thursday, November 20th, 2008 | | 6:40 pm |
Quick post because I'm trying to put off doing dinner (so....lazy....) After hating Norwich Union for months I finally left and am now working as a manager of a health food shop (Julian Graves ion the Arcade if you wanna pop in and say hi) It's really rewarding, the pay is OK and I get to be queen of my own little world. Disturbingly content in life at the minute, if I could change anything I would put more hours in the day to enjoy. Also I would have 10 billion pounds and a flying unicorn buddy, but still... Actually only one little gripe in that I'm not realy social enough, and keep having US sitcom style nostalgia flashbacks to Uni where I was in a social group almost constantly and felt really comfortable aorund people. I miss hanging out with a lot of people, like Nick, Lil Jon, Evil Jon, Jon McAdoo etc. The thing is we are all getting older and/or further away and so it's hard to keep up with people. Plus I feel like a doofus trying to get everyone round for a social event as I get overly nervous about having people round (this applies to the friends I see evry week, let alone the ones I haven't seen for months) A bit of a whinge, but only a minor one, Dave is everything to me and I am to him, which is the greatest thing in the world :0) | | Saturday, October 20th, 2007 | | 12:19 am |
I am posting this using the windows vista speech recognition program. It's quite interesting but really silly. It also takes about 10 times longer to type up anything, however it is quite novel trying to play world with warcraft. I can't get my character to move but I can use my abilities by shouting frantically the key bindings | | Thursday, May 31st, 2007 | | 9:22 pm |
Got 8 minutes before leaving to pick up Dave from work! Post, post, post! Stuff thats happened / happening since last post: Dave & I are definately going to move into a smaller place. We can't get a mortgage without a 10% deposit because of my abysmal credit rating, so lots of saving and selling is happening. I am probable finally getting my pay rise soon, and bonuses on top of that. On top of on top of that, I might be able to get a 40hr week (which would be lovely, I'd finally be earning enough to be happy! The Tuesday game became all kind of awesome, with prophecies and such. I really love the 'heroes of destiny-esque' thing going on, even if it does turn out we were just in the right place at the right time it's still gonna be awesome. We may be epic gaming for the next three weeks, as Bea is away. This makes Chibi mucho happy. I need ot ask t'others if they want to though (well, I know James does anwyay :P) I forgot how to format things so they are easy on the eyes in LJ posts My parents are off to Bulgaria for 2 weeks starting next week, which means I have Monty for two weeks :) This makes me happy, I <3 doggies. I am going to be running my first ever D&D game - I'm going to run Expedition to the UNdermountain (when it comes out next month). So far I've got Dave, Bender and Nathan, and probably someone from Dave's work (we welocme more into the fold, mwahaha) but I would love another couple of players. I plan on asking Lil Jon and evil Jon, I haven't seen them both for a while so that would be cool. Only problem may occur is it's Saturday evenings (which has been a problem for many :( ) Drama at work but I shan't go into details as to be honest I don;t know them all, just the bare bones story, but it's a trainwreck to watch nonetheless. OK, It's now been 8 minutes so I'm off to pick Dave up <3 | | Friday, February 16th, 2007 | | 7:29 pm |
I'm gonna echo Lil Jon's sentiments on UEA Larp and Larpers. They all have a superiority complex, whilst at the same time being quite shit. I'm glad we don't Larp anymore. Dave took me to London yesterday, as a Valentine treat. We went to the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum. The exhibition at the Science Museum was the 'Game On' exhibition - computer gaming throughout the ages. It was awesomly geeky (if you knew your stuff) and has original concept art from Monkey Island I, Pokemon and Dragons Lair, all of which I wanted ot steal. We took photos instead :/. Overall though the Natural History Museum was much more fun, for some reason I really like looking at stuffed animals, and was overwhelmed by the size of moose. There was also a full sized blue whale, which I would have been overwhelmed by if my mind could comprehend the fact that that thing was actually a real animal, and not something you'd just find in a D&D MM. The full sized animatronic TRex was also awesome, though we only saw it briefly because of the shoving. London, it seems, is a city of shoving. I'm very much looking forward to the good vs evil D&D game tommorrow, and generally just chillaxing out getting hyped up on tea and gaming. Peter also seems to be running a quite interesting wacky RPG game. I am going to reserve judgement on SLA (new Tuesday game) for now, but am very muych looking forward to restarting D&D on Sundays. | | Wednesday, January 24th, 2007 | | 10:32 pm |
SLA starts next Tuesday, and I am very much looking forward to it, the setting sounds cool and it'll be a huge change of pace. The problem is I miss D and D so much. I am a little bitter (read lot bitter) about losing the D7D game cos of stuff out of my control. And a bit betrayed. But if people want a change of pace, then to keep the group together then thats cool. OK: Character No 1: The mechanic. I imagine this will be the first of many SLA characters. | | Monday, January 1st, 2007 | | 4:06 pm |
Haven't updated for ages. Life was wierd the last few months. Lost my Grandad last month, that was very quick and done and felt like it was happening to someone else. I guess these things do sometimes. Life keeps moving though - my parents are now living in a caravan, so my mum can take an early retirement. I think they are tired of the world. Didn't get my payrise, although my boss insists I'll get it in January. I don't really care anymore, I have to work no matter what happens. If my boss came up to me and said 'Stacey, you will now get £3.00 an hour' I'd have to say 'Sir, yes sir'. But more money is useful I guess. Its never going to be enough for a mortgage though. The only way Dave and I are likely to get a house that is ours is if some money falls from the sky, of someone goes insane and gives us a house. It all sounds very pessimistic but I am happy. I have love and a family and a roof and food and friends. I have things to look forward to in my weeks (even though those things are Tuesday D&Ding and weekends). So happy New Year to everyone, hope you are all OK in body and mind and hope this year makes your life one year better. Dave is arranging his shoe collection (in Oblivion) on a table. | | Monday, December 25th, 2006 | | 1:21 am |

Sore, tired, bitten to death, feet ripped to shreds. People whining, me in headless chicken mode, great costumes. Most of the party dead, all of the party not returning, mission accomplished. All signs of a good Larp adventure I feel. (Ow) | | Monday, July 17th, 2006 | | 5:09 pm |
This weekend was hard. My doggy died suddenly, he had to be put down on Friday as he had a tumour. I was very lonely on Saturday. Sunday was a trainwreck of character death and whinging. Monday work was shit, my stand-in boss sucks at everything. I'm very, very tired. Although 'can you stop being so calm, it's very condescending' has to be my favourtie quote of the weekend. I will hold it to my heart as a compliment. Hope everyone else in internet land has a better weekend than I. Chib X | | Sunday, July 9th, 2006 | | 10:09 pm |
Update: The random UK Norwich goon is female, and I am therefore safe :P | | 10:05 pm |
I signed up to do a snack swap on the SA Forums and the guy who's organising it messaged me back saying he lives on Drayton Road.... Anyway, I'm paired up with a random american guy who loves Fruit Gums, so I'll send him those, and Toffee Crisps. If I get killed by a random stalker, its Drayton Road goon (who now, because of the snack swap, has my address - thats what I get for thinking everyone on the internet lives in America) | | Monday, July 3rd, 2006 | | 3:59 pm |
I'm becoming increasingly worried about Ben. Has anyone seen him? I'll worry more tomorrow, if I haven't seen him in the afternoon. Chibi | | Saturday, July 1st, 2006 | | 11:17 pm |
Meg needs to read her PMs! Also, I have made Tanias kit much cooler. And Dave & I aren't going to the Gathering due to lack of funds. Dave made me a joyful quiver :) Tha's about it, the most important bit is the first line... | | Monday, June 19th, 2006 | | 7:40 pm |

Day 1: The stick monsters are still in their eggs. Will let the world know if they hatch and if they hatch into giant radioactive squirrels or just regular stick insects. The former is entirely possible due to the monster's high exposure to soy sauce. | | Tuesday, June 13th, 2006 | | 5:02 pm |
Not much to update I'm afraid. Nothing much that people will be interested in happened. Dave made me a lovely indoors picnic again, but this time with a table and roses and lil' posh cakes :) 52 is good. Umm, D&D is ace, looking forward to it tonight although to be honest the OC shouting about IC things is getting to me a bit now. But hopefully I'll get to make Bea her lovely weapon :) And kill stuff with fire. Looking forward to Larp Sunday :) :) Tha's about it! Chibi |
